![]() The keys are a rare’ish drop off all of the enemies you will be killing during daily quests for Golden Lotus except we will farm the keys off of them. This guide is for farming Ancient Guo-Lai Cache Keys which can be used to open Ancient Guo-Lai Cache’s which are located in Guo-Lai Halls in the Northwestern part of Vale of Eternal Blossoms. I have not yet tried farming with the new respawn rate, so I do not know if farming these guys is still significantly better than anywhere else or if they been brought completely in line with other mobs. This guide has nothing to do with doing the dailies for Golden Lotus although you should do them every day for sure to help max Golden Lotus Rep. Plus these guys were just fantastic for farming even without the potion - 70 Mote of Harmony, 250 Raw Turtle Meat, a ton of vendor trash, and helping a local 86 get 5M+ exp and hundreds and hundreds of leather (I am not a skinner).īut unfortunately the respawn rate has been nerfed via a hotfix. In an hour of farming I was able to loot 35-40 chests, including time to run back to Halfhill to clear out my bags multiple times, which is considerably better than the 9 or 10 I was getting elsewhere. The Wyrmhorn Turtle in Valley of the Four Winds proved to be the ideal farming spot for these for a while, due to their insane instant respawn. I was hesitant to update this with more data in case it helped lead to a nerf, but that ship has sailed now with the latest hotfixes. The story might be different in instances IF it works in instances. So unless there is a better farming location, or until I get a bit of raid level gear, or until the price of Golden Lotus tanks this just isn't currently worth it. I opted to farm at the Chow Farmstead in Kun-Lai Summit and over the course of an hour looted 9 chests. With the current price of Golden Lotus on my server (it's still week #1 of the expansion) one of these potions averages out at 600G per potion. Even at the start of the Cataclysm expansion it was possible to loot 20+ chests in an hour of grinding, as those troggs were in nice packs, had low HP, and were pre-occupied fighting NPCs. Unfortunately I've not been able to find a decent farming location for mobs that can be killed at a similar rate to the troggs in Deepholm. Comment by johnnyrizzleThis is the Pandaria version of Potion of Treasure Finding and it seems to have a similar drop rate (~10%). ![]()
